Suzuki XL7 When motor is cold, malfunction light is on, but when hot and start motor again, light is off?

I have a Suzuki XL7. For a couple of months now, the malfunction light has been coming on only when I start the car and the motor is cold. As soon as the motor warms up and turn it off and then start the motor again, the light is off. Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause or where I start looking? Thanks

Usually has to do with cold idle start and the PCV smog system. Usually a check engine light is a result of problems with the emission systems….I wouldn’t worry about it at all. Worse case, take it to Autozone, they will do a free scan if your car is newer than 95′. They will be able to tell you what the fault code means.
